This is a threadless end, also commonly known as a pushpin! That means that on the back of the top piece, there is a pin that will fit into a hollow backing and they are held together with tension. The pin will arrive with a little kink in it, the kink is what keeps both the top and the backing securely together. Essentially, when putting in threadless style jewelry, it is just a press fit! Make sure you push the two pieces together until they are flush.
